5/23/2003      Cambon Studios Wins Four Business Marketing Association Photography Awards DENVER (May 23, 2003) -- Cambon Studios of Fort Collins took home four out of five awards presented for photography at the Colorado Business Marketing Association’s prestigious Gold Key Awards competition held in Denver on May 3, 2003. Gold Keys each went to works entitled Footspa and Old Spice. “These are two of my favorite images because their apparent simplicity makes them so powerful ,” said Jim Cambon, president of Cambon Studios. Footspa is an image created for Waterpik Technologies in conjunction with Sam Cooper Design of Fort Collins. “It has a balance of serenity and vitality that is perfectly in accord with the design concept,” said SCD Creative Director Steve Wall of the image. “Jim Cambon is a perfectionist who is easy to work with - a rare combination,” said Wall, a balance he finds essential. Footspa and other Cambon images used for packaging, trade show displays and catalogs created by Sam Cooper Design have helped generate millions of dollars in sales for Waterpik Technologies. Old Spice is an image of a 1988 Spice C2 endurance racecar. Cambon produced this image for his company’s self-promotion direct mail campaign targeting buyers of commercial photography and promoting the company web site, www.cambon.com. The 2002 Medallion Catalog produced with Sam Cooper Design for Waterpik Technologies and Gas Valve produced for General Electric Power Systems each garnered silver awards in the Gold Key competition. Entries by Cambon were found to be aesthetically and commercially superior based on the results attained by the clients for whom the images were produced. The judges were Vish Iyer, Ph.D., University of Northern Colorado Marketing Department Chair and author of more than 50 books and articles on marketing; Bob Goranson, agency principal of Mobium Creative Group in Chicago, named one of the 25 top business to business strategists by Business Marketing magazine; and Stewart Yee of Dresser Industries in Dallas0..
